Religion in this country has been hijacked by the "religious right" (which is neither). The purpose of these screenings and meetings are not merely political. Senate minority leader Harry Reid recently said he was very encouraged because there is a growing movement of interfaith leaders who are actively trying to take back their religion from these Republican so-called Christians who are in power right now, and threaten to turn this country into a Taliban-like theocracy.
